The temperature has come down since last weekend's record highs near 40c. I needed my vest for the first third of the ride and took it off just before the climbing started. It was quiet, thankfully, with way fewer cyclist than a weekend day. I chatted with a roadie who asked about my Mt. Ventoux jersey. He had climbed the Alp D'Huez and some other mountains but not Ventoux. I had to admit I'd gone up it in a Volkswagon.
